  • Qur’an – the Holy book of Islam
  • resurrection – the Christian belief that Jesus rose from the dead three days after his death
  • revealed theology – truths about God that have to be revealed to us – they cannot be understood solely by our own intellect
  • risalah – belief in the prophets (and the angels and the holy books)
  • Semite – a descendent of Shem, one of the sons of Noah.  Arabic and Hebrew are Semitic languages.
  • tawhid – the belief in the one-ness of God
  • Trinity – the Christian belief in God as One and God as Three (Father, Son and Holy Spirit)
  • ummah – an Arabic word meaning community, used to refer to the worldwide community of Muslims
  • Yom Kippur – the holiest day of the year for Jews; the Day of Atonement
